In January 2018, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) hosted its seventh annual International Poster Competition for undergraduate students as part of the Winter Enrichment Program (WEP). This competition brings up to 50 students from around the globe together. Sarah Basyouni, an electrical engineering student at Effat University won the second place. Sarah spent last summer in our lab and developed wearable capacitive sensors for volatile organic compounds detected in particular ethanol. During her internship, she was an exemplary student. She put a lot of time and effort to make sure her design worked. She worked with Dr Karumbaiah Nanaiah, a postdoctoral fellow in our group mentored her during the summer. We are looking forward for her to join KAUST next year.
