Three Internship Opportunities Communications Theory Lab

Three internship opportunities for undergraduate and masters students at the Communications Theory Lab headed by Prof. Mohamed Slim Alouini 
 (slim.alouini@kaust.edu.sa) at  King Abdullah University of Science and Technology starting Winter 2018. Students receive research credits they can transfer to their own school, enjoy free shared accommodation on campus, paid round trip tickets from their home country, tax free monthly stipend ($1100 USD), free health insurance and full access to all of the research, academic and social facilities at KAUST. The internship duration is 3-12 months and can start anytime. 

KAUST is a post-graduate school in Saudi Arabia with a state of the art research facilities. In the 2016 Nature Index Rising Stars, KAUST was ranked #19 in the world of the fastest rising universities for high quality research output. KAUST was ranked as the world's top university in citations per faculty ranking indicator as per QS World University Rankings for 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. In addition, KAUST was ranked #1 in the percentage of international student and #1 in the percentage of international faculty. Projects: 
  • Energy Harvesting-Based Wireless Sensor Networks 
    • Development of energy efficient large scale wireless sensor networks. This project can start anytime and is 3 to 12 months in duration. This project is open to Juniors, Seniors, and MS students in Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, and Statistics. It is expected that the student will submit one publication to a good venue by the end of his/her internship
    • Field of Study Electrical and Computer Engineering (with emphasis on Communications Engineering)
  • Study of Optical Wireless Communication Systems 
    • Cover terrestrial, UAV-based, and underwater optical wireless communications. This project can start anytime and is 3 to 12 months in duration. This project is open to Juniors, Seniors, and MS students in Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, and Statistics. It is expected that the student will submit one publication to a good venue by the end of his/her internship.
    • Field of Study Communication, probability, Matlab programming
  • Study of Massive MIMO Systems for 5 G Networks
    •  Optimization, Signal Processing, Linear Algebra, and Probability. This project can start anytime and is 3 to 12 months in duration. This project is open to Juniors, Seniors, and MS students in Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, and Statistics. It is expected that the student will submit one publication to a good venue by the end of his/her internship
