Implantable medical devices (IMD) and neuroprostheses are finding applications in new therapies thanks to advancements in microelectronics, sensors, RF communications, and medicine, which have resulted in embedding more functions in IMDs that occupy smaller spaces down to millimeters and consume less power, while offering therapies for more complex diseases and disabilities. I will address the latest developments in key building blocks for state-of-the-art IMDs.

Dr. Sandeep Surya is currently a Post-Doctoral fellow at the Sensors Lab, in the Electrical Engineering Department, CEMSE, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Education and Early Career Dr. Sandeep G. Surya received his Ph.D. degree from IIT Bombay in 2017. He is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow with Sensors Lab, CEMSE Division, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. Prior to this, he was a Research Associate with the Microsystems Technology Research Unit, Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Trento, Italy. His forte is in building platforms for different sensor

Khaled Salama

Professor Salama is a prominent leader in the development of intelligent sensors, biosensors and very large-scale integration (VLSI) architectures for bioimaging and instrumentation. He is one of the founders of the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Program at KAUST.

Evangelos Piliouras

Education and early career Evangelos received his integrated master's degree with excellency, from the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology in Patras in 2018. He recently joined King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and he works under the supervision of Prof. Meriem Laleg in the field of estimation. Evangelos did a 3-month internship in Dialog Semiconductor as a software developer, having developed a software automation tool. Research Interests Evangelos' research interests are found in the area of biosensors, embedded system design, modeling and
